Dr. Rajeev Kamble

Dr. Rajeev Kamble is a Specialist Interventional Radiologist at Medcare Hospital Sharjah. He completed his MBBS from Al Ameen Medical College, Karnataka, India followed by an MD in Radiodiagnosis and DM Neuroradiology & Interventional Radiology from the Post-graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. He has also completed a Diplomate from the National Board (DNB) in Radiodiagnosis. He passed the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) exam from the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE). He is a member of the Indian Society of Neuroradiology (ISNR), the Indian Society for Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR), the Society of Therapeutic Neuro Interventions (STNI), the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) and the Journal of Neuro Interventional Surgery (JNIS).

Dr. Kamble is trained in neuro-interventions, peripheral interventions and nonvascular intervention procedures. He is an expert in the field of Interventional Radiology and has several years of experience, having worked in some of the most prestigious hospitals and institutes in India and the UAE. He commenced his career with PGIMER, Chandigarh and then became an Assistant Professor at SRMC, a top medical college in Chennai, India. He then worked with Yashoda Hospitals as a Consultant before relocating to the UAE. He joined NMC Healthcare as a Specialist Interventional Radiologist. He continues to be a Clinical Adjunct Professor at Sri Ramchandra Medical College & Research Institute, India. 

Dr. Kamble’s area of expertise covers neuro-intervention including stroke, aneurysm, AVM and other vascular malformation management, peripheral vascular interventions including basic angiography to advanced atherectomy procedures, venous interventions, interventions for paediatrics, hepatobiliary interventions, nonvascular interventions and ablation for various tumours including thyroid, liver, lung and bones. He has successfully managed brain aneurysms, acute ischemic stroke, brain and spine vascular malformation and onco-interventions. He has performed mechanical thrombectomy for stroke, embolization for brain aneurysm/AVM/AVF and nonvascular interventions like aspiration drainage and biopsy.  He treats gastrointestinal bleeds like coil, glue or gel foam embolization of abnormal or bleeding mesenteric or gastric arteries, uterine artery embolization for postpartum bleeds, fibroids and arteriovenous malformations, hepatobiliary interventions including PTBD and biliary stenting, drainage for liver abscesses and managing thyroid nodules from FNAC, biopsy and ablation to embolization.

He has trained other clinicians and given lectures in India at several renowned institutes. He has several presentations and publications to his name and has participated as a speaker and attendee at many international conferences including the annual conference of the American Society of Neuroradiology. During his spare time, he enjoys reading and playing cricket. He speaks English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi & Tamil
