Ms. Bruna Moubarak

Ms. Bruna Moubarak is a Social Counsellor in the Department of Psychology at the Medcare Medical Centre. She obtained her B.A in Clinical Psychology from the Notre Dame University in Lebanon and her M.A. in Counselling Psychology for Mental Health & Wellness from the New York University (NYU), New York, USA. She also has an Advanced Certificate in Integrated Trauma Studies from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, a Certification in EMDR (EMDRIA-approved) and observes the ADOS-2 assessment schedule.

Ms. Moubarak offers therapy in English, Arabic, and French, and her therapeutic style integrates person-centred, psychodynamic theory, and techniques like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She commenced her career as an ABA Behavioural Therapist at the Hamad Center for Special Needs in Abu Dhabi, UAE, then as a Mental Health Counsellor in Training at Jamron Counselling in Brooklyn, NY, USA. In New York , she worked as an ABA Behavioural Technician at Team Work Cares, NY, as a Clinician and Mental Health Counsellor at Refresh Psychotherapy, NY and as a Mental Health Counsellor & Trauma Programme Candidate at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, Integrated Trauma Studies Division, New York, USA. After relocating to the UAE, she has worked with ClearMinds Center for Emotional Health | Dubai, UAE as a Counselling Psychologist and Trauma Therapist. She works with the Community Development Authority (CDA).

Ms. Moubarak has almost a decade of experience volunteering with NGOs supporting people with disabilities, domestic violence survivors, and animal rehabilitation. Her expertise covers the entire gamut of adjustment disorders and life transitions.  She is proficient in managing anxiety, phobia, attachment concerns, relational issues, autism assessment & treatment, depression, mood disorders, dissociation & dissociative disorders, grief, personality disorders, sexual disorders, gender identity confusion, somatisation disorders, sleep disorders, trauma: PTSD, and complex- PTSD.

In her spare time, she enjoys doing yoga, practising meditation and spending time with nature, hiking and walking. She also likes cooking, baking, exploring museums, and learning about art history. She speaks Arabic, English and French fluently.
