Dr. Senthil Nathan Thiruvallur Thiagarajan

Dr. Senthil Nathan Thiruvallur Thiagarajan is a Specialist Vascular Surgeon in the Department of Vascular Surgery at Medcare Hospital, Sharjah. He graduated in Medicine from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute and subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in General Surgery from Royapettah Hospital at Kilpauk Medical College, both from Chennai in India. He completed his specialist training in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery earning an MCh degree from Saveetha Medical College and Research Institute in Chennai, India.
Dr. Nathan is a lifetime member of the Vascular Society of India (VSI) and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). He is a member of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Association affiliated with the Emirates Medical Association UAE.
Dr. Nathan commenced his sterling career as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of General Surgery at Madras Medical College in Chennai. He then served as a Senior Resident in Vascular Surgery at Saveetha Medical College and as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Government Omandurar Multi Super Specialty Hospital both in Chennai. Moving to the UAE, he joined as a Specialist Vascular Surgeon at the Aster Hospital.
Dr. Nathan is an expert in the management of varicose veins through RF ablation, laser ablation, foam sclerotherapy, stab avulsion and glue closure and in the creation of A-V fistula access for dialysis of kidney patients. He is proficient in treating carotid disease through procedures like open endarterectomy, angioplasty, stenting for arterial stenosis, and occlusion. Other conditions treated by him include aortic aneurysm disease, diabetic foot syndrome, lymphedema, vascular trauma, AV malformations, deep vein thrombosis, and polytrauma emergencies. He has also performed peripheral angiograms, thrombectomy and vascular shunting.
Dr. Nathan has presented several papers and publications at various national and international conferences and journals. He speaks English, Hindi and Tamil.
