Dr. Khaled Abdel Aal

 Dr. Khaled Abdel Aal is a French and European-accredited Vascular and Endovascular surgeon, currently working at Medcare Hospital, Sharjah and Dubai as a Consultant in Vascular Surgery. He completed his MBBCh from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, followed by a Diploma in  Microscopic Surgery (DU) from the Faculty of Medicine in Rennes, France, a Diplôme Interuniversitaire de Spécialité in Vascular Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine in Tours, France, a Diploma in techniques of Endovascular Surgery (DU) under Prof. J.P Becquemin at Henri Mondor Hospital in Creteil, Paris, France and a Diploma of Surgical Vascular techniques (DU) with Professor J.N. Fabiani at Broussais Hospital, Paris, France. Additionally, he is an MD from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt and an MBA from the London School of Economics (LSE). He is a Fellow of the French Board of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, the European Board of Vascular Surgery, the International Society of Endovascular Therapists and the Egyptian Society of Vascular Surgery. He is a member of the Emirati Society of Vascular Surgery, the European Society of Vascular Surgery, the American Society of Vascular Surgery and the International Society of Angiology.

Dr. Abdel Aal has more than three decades of experience in arterial endovascular procedures and has worked alongside some of the most renowned French and European vascular surgeons in Paris. During the early days of his career, he practised at Ain Shams University Hospital and El Khalifa Public Hospital in Egypt. Later, he moved to France to pursue further studies and worked as a Resident at St Amand Montrond Medical Hospital, St Louis Hospital, Rennes University Hospital and St Malos Hospital. Subsequently, he became a Consultant and Chief of Unit of Vascular Surgery at Pyramid Hospital, a Consultant at Misr International, El Sallam Maadi and Mohandessein, El Safwa (private hospitals) and the American Hospital in Cairo. He also worked as a Consultant and Chief of Department of Vascular Surgery at Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital and Consultant and Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Department at the National Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology, Cairo, Egypt. Later, he joined the Polyclinic de Blois and the Cahors Hospital as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in France. He worked briefly at the Al Salam Private Hospital in Kuwait before relocating to the UAE. He has since worked with Mediclinic Hospital and Al Zahra Hospital as a Consultant in Vascular Surgery. He is also an adjunct professor of Vascular Surgery at Al Ain Medical School, Egypt.  

Dr. Abdel Aal's expertise covers arterial and venous diseases. He performs open revascularisation techniques of the aorta, carotid and peripheral arteries, endovascular techniques for renal artery stenosis, tibial arteries, peripheral vascular disease and creation of arterial venous fistula for dialysis in patients with chronic renal conditions. He does endovascular management of vascular malformations and anomalies, port cath implantation for chemotherapy in cancer patients, coiling and advanced endovascular techniques for treatment of aneurysms and diabetic foot care and treatment of vascular diabetic complications. He also administers sclerotherapy injections for superficial dilated veins, open operative techniques for severe varicose veins and treatment of varicose veins by most recent techniques like laser and radio frequency and microwave and deep venous thrombosis.   

He has published more than 25 research papers and delivered over 40 scientific lectures internationally. He speaks Arabic, English and French.
