Dr. Dinesh Vaidya

Dr. Dinesh Vaidya is a Specialist in the Urology Department at the Medcare Hospital Sharjah. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from the Grant Medical College and J J Hospital, Mumbai, India. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) from Edinburgh. He obtained a Diploma in Urology from the University College London, UK and a Certificate Programme in Healthcare Change Leadership from Cornell University, USA. He is a member of the Indian Medical Council, the General Medical Council, UK and the Emirates Urological Society.

Dr. Vaidya has four decades of experience in his chosen field, having worked in the UK, India and the UAE. During his initial years, he worked at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, UK, first as an SHO, then as a Registrar becoming a Consultant, proficient in General and Vascular Surgery and Urology. Later, he moved to Bangalore in India, working as an independent, privately practising Consultant at well-known hospitals like Manipal Hospital, Mallya Hospital, Lakeside Hospital and Fortis Hospital. He presided over the Indian Medical Association (Bangalore East) and developed a niche practice in male infertility and erectile dysfunction.Subsequently, he relocated to the UAE, joining Al Zahra Hospital - NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah as a Specialist in Urology.

Dr. Vaidya has treated hundreds of patients with urological problems ranging from prostate, stones, and infections to cancers. He incorporates the latest developing technologies like laparoscopic surgeries and laser surgeries. He has successfully treated benign and malignant enlargement of the prostate, and urinary stones with minimally invasive options like laser Lithotripsy, flexible Ureterorenoscopy, PCNL and ESWL. He treats urothelial malignancy and stress incontinence and performs TURP, REZUM, UROLIFT and Prostatectomy. He also carries out paediatric circumcision and treats congenital hydrocele. Besides his regular urological practice, he has a special interest in Andrology and has helped many patients with infertility or ED problems. He has a keen interest in sportsmen’ Groin or Hernia problems and has treated professional players with specialised surgical treatment from various sports such as Cricket, Football, and Tennis.

He takes an active part in various academic associations, helps hospitals in training their staff, and has provided public education through workshops, seminars and televised shows. Though busy with his medical practice, Dr. Vaidya enjoys travelling to different countries. He follows a fitness mantra of cycling and walking and loves rustling up a meal for family and friends. He speaks English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Urdu.
