Dr. Azam Badar Khan

Dr. Azam Badar Khan is a highly regarded Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon, who currently works as a Specialist at Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital.  He completed his MBBS from the Magadh University in Bodh Gaya, India and his MS (Orthopaedics) medical post-graduation from the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, India. He also acquired a Fellowship in Pelvis and Acetabulum from the Hospital for Special Surgery at the University of Cornell, New York, USA and a Fellowship in Arthroplasty from St Petersburg, Russia. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) and the Delhi Orthopaedic Association (DOA).

With over two decades of experience, Dr. Khan has built a distinguished career, specializing in complex knee surgeries. The early days of his career were spent as a House Surgeon at the Central Institute of Orthopaedics, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi and as a Resident at Sir Sunderlal Hospital, Varanasi. This was followed by a Registrar’s position, in Orthopaedics at the Mumbai Peripheral Municipal Hospital, Mumbai and the Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. He garnered rich experience in his chosen field as a Specialist at the Navjeevan Clinic & Research Centre in Bihar and as a Senior Resident at Orthonova Hospital in New Delhi. He spent some time as a Specialist at the Kerala Institute of Medical Science in Kerala before moving to Bahrain to join the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital, a State-of-the-Art institute. Subsequently, he relocated to the UAE, becoming a leading authority in orthopaedic surgery. He has worked as a Specialist in Orthopaedics at the International Modern Hospital, Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital, the Trauma Centre, Rashid Hospital, the Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery and Prime Hospital & Medical Centre, Dubai.  Dr. Khan is known for his precision, skill, and innovative approach to treatment and uses the latest advancements in medical technology to achieve optimal results.

Dr. Khan is recognized for his extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of knee-related conditions, especially mobile-bearing total knee arthroplasty. He has successfully done total knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, meniscus repair, PRP for knee arthritis and knee osteoarthritis. He is proficient in managing knee injuries, post-traumatic arthritis,  torn anterior cruciate ligament, deformed knees and rheumatoid arthritis. His approach to patient care is both compassionate and patient-centred. He takes the time to listen to his patients, thoroughly explains their condition and treatment options, and works collaboratively to develop plans tailored to their specific needs and goals. 

Dr. Khan participates in social campaigns such as Environmentalist which includes plantation and beach cleaning and regularly organizes Free Knee Camps in various parts of India, Africa and the UAE. He delivers awareness lectures and educational videos for Prevention and Care, has authored several books and journals and is a globally acclaimed key Speaker at National and International Conferences. He speaks English and Hindi fluently.
