Dr. Ahmad Mokhtar

Dr. Ahmad Mokhtar is a Specialist in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Khawaneej, Mirdif Speciality Center and Mirdif branches of Medcare Medical Centre. MBBS from Misr University for Science and Technology, Egypt and his MD in Orthopaedic Diseases and Traumatology from Alexandria University also in Egypt. He is a member of the Egyptian Orthopaedic Association (EOA), the SICOT World Congress &AMP, the Egyptian Orthopaedic Association, the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), the Egyptian Orthopaedic Journal, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Emirates International Orthopaedic Congress, the International Trauma Congress (ITC) and the AO foundation.

Dr. Mokhtar started working as an E.R. trainee in Saqer Hospital, UAE even before his graduation. His career spans multiple countries including Egypt and the UAE, beginning with the Alhardara Hospital as an Orthopaedic Resident trainee. He then continued as an Orthopaedic Resident first in Oqba bin Nafea Hospital, then at the Military Navy Hospital, the Alsharkawy Centre, and at Karmooz Health Insurance Hospital, garnering invaluable experience in his chosen field. He then joined Al Talaba Health Insurance Hospital and Kasr Al Shefa Hospital as an Orthopaedic Specialist. He moved to the UAE where he served as an Orthopaedic Surgery Specialist at Khorfakkan hospital, Sharjah.

Dr. Mokhtar’s gamut of experience covers all kinds of open and closed reductions for adults and pediatrics with internal fixation methods (plates, rigid and elastic nails, wire) as well as external fixation methods except Illizarov and spine surgeries. He performs deformity correction (Varum and Valgum) using plates and osteotomies, soft tissue repair including cut tendons in upper and lower extremities, tendon disease surgeries as de Quervain and trigger fingers, tendon transfer around wrists and ankles, nerve compression release as carpal tunnel release, hip hemiarthroplasty and benign tumour resection in areas that are accessible excluding pelvis and spine. He has a special interest in knee arthroscopy for sports injuries.

During his leisure hours, he likes keeping fit by going to the gym and horse riding. He also enjoys fishing and reading. He speaks Arabic, Deutsch and English.
