Dr. Ahmed AS El-Hakeem

Dr. Ahmed AS El-Hakeem is a Consultant Surgeon in the Department of General and Laparoscopic Surgery at the Sharjah branch of Medcare Hospital. He completed MBBS from the University of Gezira in Sudan and a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the European Institute of Telesurgery, Strasbourg, France. He obtained specialized training in General surgery in Ireland.      

He is a member of British Medical Association, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCS), an accredited ALS Provider from Resuscitation Council (UK), a member of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgeons (EAES), a member of the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons and a member of the European Institute of Telesurgery (EITS).

Dr.Ahmed trained and practised as a  General surgery in Connolly Hospital, an affiliate of the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland. He attained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He practiced as Consultant General and laparoscopic Surgeon in the United Kingdom & Ireland. Ad subsequently a surgical Lecturer in RCSI (Ireland). After moving to the UAE he served as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Sharjah and as Consultant General & Laparoscopic Surgeon in NMC Royal Hospital Sharjah, UAE. He is committed to continuous learning and skill improvement, ensuring his patients consistently receive the highest standard of care.

Dr. Ahmad is expertise covers gastrointestinal endoscopy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy and the intricate realm of hernia repairs, including the complexities of laparoscopic procedures. He has successfully managed anal/ rectal conditions like anal fistula and anal fissure repair, employing advanced methods such as THD for haemorrhoids, breast surgery including lumpectomy and mastectomy for both benign and malignant breast cysts and thyroid surgery. He has proficiency in pilonidal cyst excision, surgical drainage, wound debridement including diabetic foot ulcer, lymph node biopsy and skin lesion removal. He conducts diagnostic procedures using state-of-the-art methods such as colonoscopy, laparoscopy, biopsies, and fine needle aspirations. He addresses skin and soft tissue tumours, along with general wound care, including diabetic foot ulcers. He believes in providing his patients with the highest standard of care, marked by expertise, compassion, and an unyielding commitment to their health.
