Dr. Mohammed Atif Makdum

Dr. Mohammed Makdum Atif is a Specialist in the Department of Ophthalmology at Medcare Hospital-Sharjah. He obtained his basic medical education from KMC Manipal and continued his academic journey by obtaining an MS in Ophthalmology from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) both in India. He further specialized in Vitreoretina through a fellowship at the same university, honing his skills in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal conditions. He is a member of the European Society of Retina Specialists and the Karnataka Medical Council.
During the initial stages of his career, Dr. Atif worked at Vasan Eye Care in Tirupathi and MM Joshi Eye Institute in Hubli, gaining valuable practical experience. He then pursued an opportunity at Dubai Hospital as a Senior Specialist Registrar, where he contributed significantly to the healthcare system in the region. He then continued his professional journey at Vasan Eye Care Dubai and University Hospital Sharjah, before joining Medcare Hospital.
Dr. Atif is a renowned ophthalmologist with a vast range of experience in both medical and surgical retinal disorders. He has effectively diagnosed and treated numerous patients, offering them optimal care and visual outcomes. His expertise covers the management of various retinal disorders like diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, retinopathy of prematurity, macular degeneration and macular holes.
