Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Mostafa

Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Mostafa is a skilled Ophthalmology Specialist at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. He has an illustrious academic journey starting with an MBBS degree at Cairo University, followed by a Master's in Ophthalmology from Ain Shams University, Cairo. Later, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCO), Edinburgh and a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), Edinburgh. Additionally, he achieved a Fellowship with the International Council of Ophthalmology in Belgium and a PhD in Ophthalmology from Cairo University.

Dr. Mostafa has worked across Egypt and the UAE, gaining extensive experience in glaucoma , cataract and refractive surgeries . He is an expert in LASIK and other refractive surgeries like relex smile femto lasik prk , cataract surgeries using the premium IOLS In Egypt, he began his career as an Ophthalmology Resident at the Giza Memorial Institute of Ophthalmic Research, then continued to work there as a lecturer of ophthalmology before moving to the UAE. He joined Dubai Hospital. Subsequently, he worked as a Specialist in Ophthalmology and served as the Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah, before joining Medcare Royal as the head of ophthalmology dept . 

Throughout his career, Dr. Mostafa has performed more than 10000 surgeries, focusing on LASIK, Femto LASIK, Femto SMILE, ICL (Implantable Contact Lens), as well as complex cataract and glaucoma surgeries, including minimally invasive techniques. He is an expert in using premium intraocular lenses for cataract surgeries to enhance visual outcomes. He treats cornea diseases, perform corneal transplantations , treats keratoconus , corneal rings, medical retina and extra-ocular diseases.  He administers intravitreal injections and performs retinal laser surgeries and corneal transplants.

Dr. Mostafa has contributed significantly to ophthalmic research, with research papers to his credit and participates in international and national conferences to stay abreast with the latest advancements in his field.  He had multiple presentations  in the European society for cataract and refractive surgeons and in the emirates society of Ophthalmology . He’s a member of the European Society for cataract and refractive surgeons , American society for cataract surgeons and Emirates Society of Ophthalmology, He speaks Arabic and English.
