Dr. Rupesh Singh

Dr. Rupesh Singh is a skilled Specialist in Interventional Cardiology at Medcare Hospital Sharjah. He completed his MBBS from the BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur, India and MD in Internal Medicine from the Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Bundelkhand, India, followed by DM (Cardiology) from the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER), Kolkata, India. Dr. Singh is a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE), USA. He is a member of the Cardiology Society of India.

Dr. Singh has spent more than two decades in his chosen field, practising at renowned hospitals across India and the UAE. His special interests include preventive cardiology, radial intervention for acute and chronic coronary artery disease, and device therapy for heart diseases. After moving to the UAE, he worked as a Cardiologist at Zulekha Hospital. Later, he joined Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah, as a Specialist Interventional Cardiologist.

Dr. Singh’s area of expertise includes the evaluation and treatment of cardiac symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath and palpitation. He treats common cardiovascular disorders like hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and heart failure, besides performing non-invasive tests like TMT echocardiography, including transoesophageal echo, stress echocardiography, Holter and Tilt tale tests. His experience in invasive cardiology covers diagnostic angiograms and angioplasties, including rotablation and IVLT, device closure, valvuloplasty and implantation of cardiac devices like pacemakers, ICD and CRTD.  He also does imaging and physiological testing in the Cath lab and complex PTCA, including IVUS FFR microcirculation study. 

Dr. Singh has performed over 4000 angiographies, 1500 angioplasties and more than 300 pacemaker implantations. He has several international publications to his name and has attended many international conferences. He enjoys reading and playing cricket during his leisure hours. He speaks Bengali, English, Hindi and Urdu.
