Dr. Afnan Mohammed Safwat El‑Asser

Dr. Afnan Mohammed Safwat El Asser is a Board-certified Radiology Specialist working at Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS and MD in Diagnostic Radiology at Menoufia University, Egypt. Additionally, she holds Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) and International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL). She is a member of the Egyptian Society of Breast Imaging (ESBI).

Dr. El-Asser has spent over a decade working across Egypt and the UAE. She commenced her career as a Radiology Resident at the Fever Hospital in Egypt. Later, she became a Radiology Specialist at Burjeel Medical City in Abu Dhabi and then joined the University Hospital of Sharjah.

She specialises in ultrasound, CT, X-ray, fluoroscopy, mammography, and women’s imaging, with a strong focus on Obstetrics, Gynaecology and breast imaging. She is known for her accuracy, patient-centred approach, and efficient workflow management. She performs abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, antenatal, anomaly scans, gynaecologic ultrasound, mammography and breast ultrasound, ultrasound guided breast biopsies (core needle & FNA), vascular Doppler studies (UEV, LEV, carotid, renal duplex), CT scan interpretation (trauma, oncology, neurological cases) and X-ray and fluoroscopy (GI/GU contrast studies).

She speaks Arabic and English.
