Dr. Abdalkarim Nassar

Dr. Abdalkarim Nassar is a Consultant in Pulmonary and Internal Medicine at Medcare Hospital in Sharjah. He completed his MBBS from Prague’s First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in the Czech Republic, and a European Diploma in Respiratory Diseases from Switzerland. He is certified by the Jordanian Board in Pulmonary Medicine and by the Arab Board in Internal Medicine. He also holds a professional certification, HERMES, a programme developed by the European Respiratory Society (ERS). He is a member of the Emirates Thoracic Society, the European Respiratory Society, the Jordanian Respiratory Society, the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and the Palestinian Thoracic Society. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), UK.  

Dr. Nassar is recognised for his contributions to respiratory health across multiple countries and is actively involved in international medical communities. During the initial stages of his career, he worked as a Consultant at Charles University Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic and at Jordan University Hospital, managing complex respiratory cases. Subsequently, he relocated to the UAE, where he first joined University Hospital Sharjah as a Pulmonologist and Internal Medicine Specialist. Later, he worked as a Consultant in Pulmonary and Internal Medicine at the Burjeel Speciality Hospital in Sharjah. 

Dr. Nassar’s expertise encompasses the entire spectrum of Internal Medicine diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, thyroid disorders, anaemia, as well as pulmonary embolism, and all bacterial, fungal, and tuberculosis infections. He proficiently treats cough, difficulty in breathing, chest pain, fever, palpitations, asthma, allergies, lung disease, smoking cessation, COPD, acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, acute viral and post-COVID illnesses, lung nodules, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, pneumothorax, sleep apnoea and disease of the pleura. He utilises the latest techniques in his field, which include bronchoscopy procedures, pulmonary function tests (spirometry, FENO, lung volume, DLCO, and 6-minute walk test), X-ray, CT Scan, blood tests, allergy tests, and sleep studies.
