He completed his BSc in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kent, Canterbury and a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) from the University of Hertfordshire, UK. Dr. Williams spent many years in specialist child and adolescent mental health services treating children, young people (CYP) and adults in the local community as well as refugees from international cultures. As a senior psychologist, he was the service lead for trauma and provided trauma training and education to staff teams in medical and educational settings. He worked in general paediatrics at a large, regional children’s hospital with those affected psychologically by medical conditions. Prior to relocating to the UAE, Dr. Williams divided his time between specialist maternity-related psychology services in the NHS and reporting to the English Courts as an Independent Expert Witness with those involved in the Family Court system.
Dr. Williams is a versatile clinician experienced in the assessment of psychological and emotional difficulties. His proficiency extends to managing neurodevelopmental difficulties (ADHD, ASD), self-harm, para-suicidal behaviour, perinatal psychology, safeguarding, traumatic brain injury in children and young people and cognitive, neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessment.
