Dr. Amr El Zawahry

Dr. Amr El Zawahry is a distinguished doctor associated with Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital as a Consultant in Paediatric & The Head of Department. Dr. Amr Elzawahry is a distinguished paediatrician with over 33 years of experience in the paediatric field.he has UAE expirinces more than 27 years . He started his practice and teaching career at the Ain Shams University, Cairo. He continued his teaching career in Sohar Hospital University in Oman from 1996 till 1999. He later became a senior specialist in Latifa Hospital, Dubai, covering the inpatient, outpatient, paediatric emergency, and paediatric intensive care unit for more than 15 years. In 2015, he joined Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital as a consultant and head of Paediatrics under the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. His most recent position was as Head of Department at a prestigious UK hospital in Dubai. In 2021, he became head of paediatrics in a major hospital in Dubai.Dr amr elzawahry has post graduation from Egypt and UK . in addition has subspecilites in pediatric pulmonology and critical care . he is alos covering all pediatric general feild included critical areas and child develpoment and growth .Dr Amr has long expirinces in research and conferences , he isa facuility memeber in amercan heart association .

Dr. El Zawahry began his career, practising and teaching at Ain Shams University in Cairo and continued teaching at the Sohar Hospital University in Oman. In the UAE, Dr. Amr El Zawahry served as the Head of Paediatrics at Kings College Hospital London. He also held the position of Head of Paediatrics at Al Zahra Private Hospital and Head of Paediatrics at Mediclinic City Hospital. He has held significant positions, including that of a Senior Specialist at Latifa Hospital in Dubai covering the inpatient, outpatient, paediatric emergency, and paediatric intensive care unit for more than a decade. Later, he joined Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital as a Consultant and Head of Paediatrics under the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. He is also known for his dedication to medical education, having served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Sharjah, a Consultant Clinical Educator at Dubai Health Care City and an Assistant Professor in Paediatrics at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). 

Dr. El Zawahry’s repertoire of expertise covers the entire gamut of paediatric pulmonology, critical care, child development and growth, besides comprehensive newborn care from day one, including continuous monitoring for babies requiring special attention, management of all neonatal cases, addressing feeding issues with lactation consultation, postnatal follow-up, and treatment of neonatal jaundice, encouraging and supporting breastfeeding, with dedicated guidance for new mothers. He proficiently manages all respiratory conditions, including cough, wheezing, chest congestion, fever, allergies, skin disorders, respiratory distress, croup and asthma. He diagnoses and treats anaemia in children, evaluates and manages growth and development disorders, and addresses gastrointestinal issues such as vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, distension, and gastrointestinal bleeding. He also pays special attention to neurological and nutritional disorders, diabetes, and acute and chronic childhood diseases and provides specialised care for growth and genetic disorders. He manages paediatric emergencies as well as common childhood diseases and offers comprehensive child immunisation programmes and advanced paediatric intensive care services for critical conditions.

Dr. El Zawahry is passionate about teaching and ensuring the next generation of paediatric specialists is well-prepared. He has coordinated several medical symposiums and conferences. He enjoys spending time with his family and loves travelling when he can make the time, away from work. He speaks Arabic and English.
