Dr. Suhel Dabawala

Dr. Suhel Dabawala is a skilled Paediatric Dentist at Medcare Medical Centre. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Dental Sciences (BDS) from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and an MDS in Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry from Manipal College of Dental Sciences, under Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Mangalore, India. He pursued further training in CBCT Principles, Segmental Fixed Orthodontic Therapy, and the Myobrace System. He is certified in Sedation Dentistry (Nitrous oxide sedation and General anaesthesia) from the Boston Children’s Hospital in the USA. Additionally, he is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Dabawala began his career as a Consultant Paediatric Dentist at Apollo White Dental Care in Mumbai, India. He also worked at Aesthetic Smiles Dental Clinic and Facial Rejuvenation and the Surya Hospitals in Mumbai. Subsequently, he relocated to the UAE, where he first worked at La Familia Medical Centre, then at Novomed, Monroe Medical Centre and the Dubai Clinics and Hospitals as a Specialist Paediatric Dentist. He also works part-time at the Dental Studio Group. He is a Key Opinion Leader for NuSmile crowns for children, currently in demand by parents who prefer aesthetic restorations over stainless steel crowns.

Dr. Dabawala’s focus is on early childhood caries and preventive care, creating a friendly, positive, and fun environment for his young patients. He treats dental caries with pulp therapy, and uses tooth-coloured fillings, stainless steel and zirconia crowns. He is adept at managing anxious children, sometimes using nitrous oxide sedation or performing dental treatment under general anaesthesia, and handling dental trauma and emergencies. He educates his patients and their parents about the importance of oral hygiene and a healthy diet. He is an expert at Paediatric Dentistry for Special Needs, oral infections, gingivitis and developmental dental conditions. He also takes care of early orthodontic assessment and habit-breaking appliances, space maintainers, and growth monitoring. Above all, he is gentle and patient and establishes a trusting relationship with the children in his care.
