Dr. Sansy Mathews

Dr. Sansy Mathews is a Specialist in Paediatrics at Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS from the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, affiliated with Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research in India. She holds an Arab Board Certification in Paediatrics under the Dubai Residency Training Programme (UAE), affiliated with the Council of Arab Board of Health Specialisations and a Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Allergy from the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, affiliated with Duke-NUS SingHealth in Singapore.

Dr. Mathews began her career in the UAE, as a Paediatric Resident, rotating between Dubai Hospital and Latifa Hospital. Later, she joined the Prime Healthcare Group as a Paediatric Specialist. Subsequently, she completed her clinical fellowship at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore.

Apart from managing a wide range of general paediatric conditions, including well-child visits, immunisations, growth and development monitoring, gut-related issues such as colic and constipation, allergies, and asthma, Dr. Mathews has a specialised focus in paediatric allergy. Her expertise encompasses the diagnosis and management of a broad spectrum of allergic conditions, including food allergies and intolerances, drug allergies, insect and venom allergies, environmental allergies, such as allergic rhinitis and mould allergies, food-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis (FDEIA), acute and chronic urticaria and hereditary angioedema (HAE). She is proficient in performing advanced procedures such as skin prick testing, oral food and drug challenges, allergen immunotherapy for allergic rhinitis, administration of biologics and expert counselling for peanut oral immunotherapy (POIT). She also does sick day management of those children undergoing POIT, MDD clinics run in collaboration with dieticians, gastroenterologists, dermatologists for chronic GI and eczema patients suffering from food allergies.  Her approach combines clinical expertise with compassionate guidance, empowering families to understand and manage allergies effectively, thus enabling children to enjoy healthier, symptom-free lives. She treats respiratory tract infections, bronchial asthma, colic and constipation, vomiting and dehydration management, vitamin and iron deficiencies, eczema and infections, urticaria and hereditary angioedema (HAE). 

Dr. Mathews is an avid reader and enjoys reading novels and self-help books. In her spare time, she likes travelling, photography and designing creative tablescapes for dinners, birthdays and intimate events. She speaks English, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil.
