Dr. Firas Al Khoury

Dr. Firas Al Khoury is a Specialist Paediatrician at Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Damascus University, followed by his Master's (MSc) in Paediatric Gastroenterology from Damascus University Children's Hospital, both in Syria. He holds a Certification from the European Board of Paediatrics, Specialisation from the Arab Board of Paediatrics, and Certification from the Syrian Board of Paediatric Gastroenterology and the Syrian Board of Paediatrics.

With more than a decade of experience in Paediatric healthcare, Dr. Al Khoury has worked in leading tertiary care hospitals and specialised healthcare institutions in Syria and the UAE.

During the early days of his career spent in Syria, he worked at the University Children's Hospital in Damascus, then at the Al Mouassat Hospital Association, the Dr Shami Hospital, and later at the Dummar Medical Centre. Subsequently, he moved to the UAE, where he joined the Saudi German Hospital.

Dr. Al Khoury has extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, neonatal, and intensive care settings, providing comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adolescents. He manages a wide range of acute and chronic paediatric conditions with particular expertise in paediatric gastrointestinal and liver diseases.  He treats fever and common childhood infections, respiratory infections, asthma, allergic disorders, food allergy and intolerance, Celiac disease, acute & chronic diarrhoea, constipation, chronic abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), helicobacter pylori Infection, gastritis, urinary tract infections (UTI), nocturnal enuresis, atopic dermatitis (Eczema) and common skin disorders. He also manages newborn and infant health problems and addresses their growth, development & nutritional concerns.
