Dr. Carolina Hernandez Ortega

Dr. Carolina Hernandez Ortega is a Specialist Paediatrician at the JBR branch of Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS from Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, Bogota, Colombia. She is a member of the Dubai Health Association and the Colombian Medical Association. 

Dr. Ortega spent the initial years of her career in Colombia, garnering experience in outpatient and hospital settings. She worked in private and government healthcare In Colombia including Hospital Militar Central and Compensar. After moving to the UAE, she joined New Health Call JLT, Dubai as a Specialist Paediatrician, followed by a stint at Medi Centres Polyclinic, Jumeirah branch.

She is committed to providing comprehensive paediatric care to newborns and children up to 18 years. She has successfully treated acute illnesses such as UTRI, fever, acute gastroenteritis and UTI, obesity, undernutrition, delayed development and puberty alterations. She proficiently addresses growth and development alterations such as short-stature, feeding habits and eating disorders (such as picky eating, sensory disorder, bulimia or anorexia). Dr. Ortega is an expert in treating paediatric chronic diseases and comorbidities, develops personalised catch-up schedules and assesses for immunisation needs. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running and catching up with her reading. She speaks English and Spanish.
