Dr. Fadi Iskandarani

Dr. Fadi Iskandarani is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. He completed his Diploma in General Medicine followed by a Diploma in Paediatric Surgery (Digestive and Urology), both from Saint Joseph University in Beirut. He also earned a Diploma in Paediatric Surgery (A.F.S.A) from the Université Paris-Saclay and an MD from the University of Paris V Rene Descartes, France. He has done a Fellowship in Paediatric Surgery from the College of Medicine, Paris, France. He is affiliated with the French Society of Paediatric Surgery and the Lebanese Society of Paediatric Surgery.

With more than two decades of rich experience in his chosen field, Dr. Iskandarani has achieved many significant milestones. Besides, his numerous professional achievements, he has published several papers in established journals and is a well-respected paediatric surgeon in the UAE. He is privileged to be a member of the Medical Board at the Rafic Hariri University Hospital, the Medical Controller for Med Gulf Insurance and a Reviewer for the Lebanese Medical Journal. 

During the nascency of his career, he was a Lecturer and then a Teaching Assistant at the Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. Simultaneously, he completed his Residency at Hotel Dieu Hospital, affiliated with Saint Joseph Hospital, Beirut. He also spent a few years as a Lecturer in Paediatric Surgery at the Nursing School of Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. He then moved to France as a Paediatric Surgeon, performing Paediatric Liver Transplantation & Hepato-Biliary Surgery at the Bicetre Hospital and Paediatric Urology & Oncologic Paediatric Surgery at the Trousseau Hospital. Later, he returned to Lebanon where he spent nearly two decades in various roles including a Teaching Residency Program and Lecturer in Paediatric Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Lebanese University, and as a Paediatric Surgeon at Bahman Hospital, Trad Hospital and Hotel Dieu de France Hospital. 

He has the distinction of being the Head of the Paediatric Surgery Division at the Sahel General Hospital, the Al Zahraa Hospital University Medical Center and the Middle East Hospital, all affiliated with the Lebanese University. He served as the Head of the Paediatric Surgery Division at the Rafic Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) and Paediatric Surgeon at the Clemenceau Medical Center in Lebanon before relocating to the UAE. In Dubai, he took on the role of Consultant Paediatric Surgery working first with Al Zahra Hospital and then Mediclinic City Hospital.

Dr. Iskandarani’s areas of specialization are paediatric urology, hypospadias repair, neonatal surgery, one-stage surgery for anorectal malformation, and Hirschsprung disease. He has a special interest in hepato-biliary surgery, biliary atresia (Kasai procedure), solid tumour oncologic surgery and paediatric surgery.

In his spare time, he likes to keep fit through running, swimming, hiking and biking. He also enjoys reading. He speaks Arabic, English and French.
