Dr. Haidar K Hamid

Dr. Haidar K Hamid is a Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery at Medcare Royal Specialty Hospital. He completed his MBChB from the College of Medicine and Surgery, Al Mustansirya University in Baghdad, Iraq. He holds Specialised Certification from the Danish Board of Health and Welfare, the Swedish Board of Health and Welfare and the Norwegian Board of Health and Welfare. He is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeon (AAOS),

 Dr. Hamid commenced his career in trauma and emergency medicine in Iraq, then practised orthopaedic surgery in Denmark, and later held leadership roles in several hospitals in the UAE. His career spans over two decades, with leadership positions in trauma care, joint replacement, and hospital departments. After relocating to the UAE, he worked at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, the American Hospital Dubai and the Al Zahra Private Hospital.

Dr. Hamid keeps himself updated on the latest techniques and technologies in the field, both in conservative and operative treatment of orthopaedic conditions. He treats a wide spectrum of trauma and joint cases with minimally invasive procedures, arthroscopic operations of the knee and shoulder, sports injuries, knee, shoulder and hip replacements,

arthroscopic surgery and sports injuries of knee, shoulder and wrist. He performs endo-prosthetics, surgery of the  hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow, does revision of prosthesis of the hip, knee and shoulder, readjustment osteotomy on thigh, lower leg and elbow, conservative and surgical therapy on acute and chronic disorders or traumas, trauma surgeries and fracture treatment on extremities and administers joint injections.

Dr. Hamid has a formidable reputation, having performed over 8000 procedures and still counting. He speaks several languages, including Arabic, Danish, English, Norwegian and Swedish.
