Dr. Abdulrahman Alkard

Dr. Abdulrahman Alkard is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his MBBCh and his Master's degree in Orthopaedics and Traumatology (MSc) from the Faculty of Medicine, Damascus University, Syria. He is a member of many well-known medical societies including the International Society for Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), the Canadian Sports Medicine Society, the AO Spine Society, the Syrian Orthopaedics Association and the Jeddah Orthopaedics Club. 

During the nascency of his illustrious career, Dr. Alkard was an Orthopaedic Resident in Syria. After moving to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he worked as an Orthopaedic Specialist at the Prince Abdulla Hospital KSA, the Saudi German Hospital, Jeddah and the Saudi German Hospital, Riyadh where he served as the Head Department of Orthopaedics. He also did a short stint at a private clinic for sports medicine in Damascus, Syria. He then relocated to the UAE, where he worked as an Orthopaedic Specialist at the Sharjah Corniche Hospital. He has also served as a team physician for the Syrian National Football team and an arthroscopic instructor at the Storz Company in India and Sudan.

With multi-layered experience and excellent skills, Dr. Alkard has performed more than a thousand ACL reconstructions and 3000 knee arthroscopies. He is reputed for performing arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow, transforaminal endoscopy of the spine, ultrasonography of infant hip and shoulder, spine fixation and paediatric surgery. He has successfully treated sports injuries and cervical and lumbar disc disorders. He speaks Arabic and English fluently and enjoys reading a good book and travelling during his spare time.
