Dr. Alkawthar Oubidin

Dr. Alkawthar Oubidin is a Specialist in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Sharjah - Medcare Medical Centre. After completing her basic medical education she obtained an MD from the Faculty of Medicine at Aleppo University in Syria. She also acquired a Master’s in Ophthalmology Sciences from the Aleppo University Hospital in Aleppo as well as a Certificate from the Arab Board in Ophthalmology. She is a  member of the Syrian Medical Association

Dr. Oubidin initially worked for a few years in Syria before moving to the UAE as a Specialist Ophthalmologist with Dr. Rami Hamed Center in Dubai. While working as a Specialist Ophthalmologist at the Syrian Specialist Hospital in Aleppo, Syria she volunteered at Namaa Charity Organisation. She also served as a Specialist Ophthalmologist at the Martini Hospital in Aleppo, Syria. 

She has successfully managed paediatric ophthalmology disorders like, congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction, error refraction, congenital and acquired strabismus . Diabetic retinopathy, corneal ulcer, glaucoma and optic nerve diseases. She uses the latest techniques including Argon laser for diabetic retinopathy and intravitreal injections. She has performed Pterygium excision and phacoemulsification cataract surgery and treated Uveitis as well as glaucoma.

Dr.Al Kawthar  spends her free time reading and keeping herself fit by playing a variety of sports. She likes attending courses in human growth and development. She speaks both Arabic and English fluently.
