Dr. Mona Azmy Zakariya Hassan

Dr. Mona Azmy Zakariya Hassan is a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Medcare Hospital, Sharjah. She completed her MBBCh and MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Ain Shams University, Egypt. Additionally, she completed her certification from the European Board & College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (EBCOG), a Diploma in Women’s Health (RCPI), Ireland and a Professional Diploma in Reproductive Medicine / IVF from the Birmingham Women’s & Children’s Hospital, UK. She is an Examiner Panel member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She is a Teaching Panel Member at the University of Sharjah, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FACOG), holds a professional Diploma in Infertility & Assisted Reproductive Techniques from Ain Shams University, Egypt and a Diploma in Cosmetic Gynecology (CDCG). She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) from USA, and a European Fellow in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.

Dr. Hassan has spent over two decades as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working in Egypt and the UAE in women’s healthcare. During the initial stages of her career, she worked as a Specialist Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Al Amal Specialised Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. After relocating to the UAE, she worked in a similar capacity, first at Al Zahra Hospital in Sharjah, then at Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Umm Al Quwain, Zulekha Hospital in Sharjah, and finally at NMC Royal Hospital in Sharjah.

Dr. Hassan’s expertise encompasses the entire gamut of high risk obstetrics, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, infertility management, and assisted reproductive technology (IVF). She manages all types of pregnancies, including normal and operative vaginal delivery and emergency and elective Caesarean sections. She performs gynaecological laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound and is an expert in infertility management and assisted reproductive technology (IVF). She also manages menstrual disorders, PCOS, fibroids and ovarian cysts and advises on family planning and contraceptive procedures, provides lactation and breastfeeding support and practises cosmetic gynaecology.

Dr. Hassan is dedicated to evidence-based, patient centred care and comprehensive women’s health services. She has several publications and research papers to her name and speaks Arabic and English.
