Dr. Israa Khalid Ali

Dr. Israa Khalid Ali is a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Medcare Hospital-Sharjah. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and a Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (DGO) from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. She also holds an Arab Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the Arab Board of Medical Specialisations, Iraq. She also holds a Master's in  Healthcare Administration (MHA) from George Washington University, USA.  She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), UK. She’s a member of the International American Association of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the International Iraqi Medical Association and the Iraqi Family Planning Association

Dr. Ali has worked across Iraq, Yemen and the UAE, garnering rich experience, embodying commitment to excellence in women's healthcare. During the early years of her career, she worked as a General Practitioner and Obstetrician at Saddam General Hospital in Baghdad. She then moved to Yemen, where she was a Registrar in Obstetrics at Al Hayat Hospital and Al Mousaly Polyclinic, and a Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Al Jounhoory Teaching Hospital. Subsequently, she moved to the UAE, where she worked as a Specialist Registrar OBG at the Behloul Specialty Hospital in Dubai, and as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Welcare Hospital and SKG Hospital. She also served as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the NMC Royal Hospital

Dr. Ali’s expertise encompasses the entire gamut of prenatal, antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care, management of low-risk and high-risk complicated pregnancy with medical disorders and obstetric surgical care and intervention. Her proficiency extends to the management of menstrual disorders, polycystic ovaries, recurrent miscarriage, infertility, induction of ovulation, follicular tracking, and hysteroscopy for fibroids and polyps. She performs laparotomy, colposcopy/LLETZ/LEEP and minimally invasive surgeries for gynaecological conditions, as well as for diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy for infertility, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries and ectopic pregnancies

She treats women who are premenopausal and postmenopausal, screens for abnormal Pap smear and all benign tumours of the reproductive organs. She provides advice on contraception, including pills, and insertion and removal of intrauterine devices

She is a strong advocate for teamwork and cooperation between healthcare professionals, managers, and innovators to create a healthcare system that is both efficient and caring. She speaks Arabic and English
