Dr. Sunaya Puranik

Dr. Sunaya S Puranik is a skilled Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS from the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India and her Master of Surgery (MS) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the KLE Society's Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, India. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MRCOG), UK. She holds a Fellowship (FMAS) and a Diploma (DMAS) in Minimal Access Surgery from the World Laparoscopy Hospital. Additionally, she has a Fellowship in ART from the International Association of ART. She is a member of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), the Women's Association for Local Endoscopic Surgeons (WALES ) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). 

Dr. Puranik has spent more than a decade working across India and the UAE. She began her career as an Assistant Professor at the Kasturba Medical College in Manipal. Subsequently, she moved to the UAE to join the Private Medical Group as a full-time Specialist Gynaecologist. She was a Specialist at King’s College Hospital (London) in Dubai before joining the Medcare group. 

Dr. Puranik’s expertise covers pre-pregnancy and antenatal care, normal deliveries, Caesarean sections, high-risk obstetrics, post-natal care, ultrasonography, gynaecological surgeries, and minimal access surgery. She is proficient in the management of PCOS, fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, cysts, pelvic infections, menopause, perimenopause, menstrual health and urinary tract infections (UTIs). She believes in general women's health and well-being, preventive gynaecology, counselling and education for female health conditions and adolescent gynaecology. She has independently managed busy OPDs, high-risk emergency wards, and labour rooms, demonstrating her competence and proficiency in her field. 

Dr. Puranik engages in academic pursuits and research endeavours. She conducts blood testing, interpreting results accurately, obstetrical ultrasonography and smear tests. She speaks English, Hindi, Kannada, Tulu, Urdu
