Dr. Oksana Melnyk

Dr. Oksana Melnyk is a specialist in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Medcare Women & Children Hospital. She completed her Specialist Diploma in Medicine from the Bogomolets National Medical University, Kyiv, Ukraine and a postgraduate Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as a PhD in Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. She further added to her qualifications with an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialization Course from Columbia

University Medical College, Salzburg, Austria and an Advanced Colposcopy Course from Whittington Hospital, London, UK. She also holds an advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery Certification from Avellino, Italy, a Laboratory Diagnostics on Genetic Diseases Certification from Berlin, Germany and a Diploma in Laser Technology and Advanced Aesthetics from Wellspring College, Toronto, Canada. 

She commenced her illustrious career with a Clinical Residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine in Kyiv, Ukraine. She served as the Head of the Maternity Block at the Kyiv Maternity Clinic #2, then as an Associate Professor in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of Shupyk Kyiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education and as Head of the Department of Gynaecology, Kyiv Maternity Clinic #2, all in Kyiv, Ukraine. She then moved to Canada to join Cardio Matters Clinic in Toronto before joining Medcare in the UAE.

Dr. Melnyk performs advanced gynaecological procedures that include laparoscopic cystectomy, oophorectomy, tubectomy, ovarian drilling, reconstructive tubal surgery, Hysterectomy, myomectomy and plastic reconstructive surgery on internal and external genital organs. She does hysteroscopy with uterine biopsy and DC, with resection of endometrial polyps and with myomectomy. She has treated patients requiring cervix-cone biopsy, loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), amputation of cervix and cervical cerclage in pregnancy. Her obstetrics skills cover the entire gamut of pregnancy and delivery and include Caesarean sections, instrumental delivery, high-risk and multi-foetal pregnancies, and pregnancy after supporting reproductive technologies or curable infertility.

During her spare time, she enjoys travelling and cooking. She speaks English, Russian and Ukrainian.
