Dr. Omar Hashim Alalawi

Dr. Omar Hashim Alalawi is a Specialist in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Town Square and Al Barsha South branches of Medcare Medical Centre. After completing his MBChB from Iraq, he obtained a Certificate of Specialization in Internal Medicine from the Council of Arab Board of Medical Specializations (CABMS). Subsequently, he became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), UK.

He worked for more than a decade in various reputed Iraqi Hospitals before moving to Oman where he spent a few years at the Badr Al Samaa Medical Centre in Oman. He is a member of the Iraqi Medical Syndicate and the Oman Medical Specialty Board.

Dr. Alalawi treats all types of acute medical conditions that involve respiratory tract infection, chest pain, asthma, hypertension and Diabetes. He is proficient in managing patients who come to him with conditions like peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Thyroid problems and abdominal pain. He also treats weight gain, allergies, anaemia, common cold and chronic disorders. He is well versed in doing Echocardiography.

He speaks both Arabic and English fluently.
