Dr. Ioanna Nakou

Dr. Ioanna Nakou is a Specialist in Internal Medicine at Medcare Medical Centre. She studied medicine at the University of Pavia in Italy, earning an MD degree. Following this, she completed her Specialisation in Internal Medicine and further qualified herself with an MSc in Preventive Medicine, both from the Democritus University of Thrace. She holds a PG Diploma in Anti-Ageing Medicine from the University of South Wales. She is a member of the Hellenic Medical Association.

During the early stages of her career, Dr. Nakou worked at the Sismanogleio General Hospital in Komotini and later served as a Specialist in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, both in Greece. Later, she relocated to the UAE to join Novomed Center as a Specialist in Internal Medicine. 

With over a decade of international experience in her chosen field, Dr. Nakou is proficient in preventive medicine and the management of acute and chronic diseases. She treats respiratory infections, urinary infections, anaemias, vitamin deficiencies, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, hypothyroidism, gout, gastritis, GERD and gastroenteritis. She administers adult vaccinations, too.

During her leisure hours, she makes an effort to stay fit by playing Padel and doing Pilates. She speaks English, Greek and Italian.
