Dr. Alaa Saloum

Dr. Alaa Saloum is a Specialist in Internal Medicine at the Meadows branch of Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his MBBCh and MD in Endocrine, Chronic and Acute Diseases from Damascus University in Syria. He is board-certified in Internal Diseases from the Syrian Commission of Medical Specialities. Dr. Saloum is a member of the Syrian Commission of Medical Speciality and the Medical Association of the European Society of Intensive Care.

He commenced his career as an Internal Medicine Specialist and ICU inpatient Specialist at Saint Luis Hospital in Syria. Having garnered invaluable experience in managing both complex and common problems, Dr. Saloum joined the Yafa Hospital UNWRA, also in Syria as the ICU Chief. Subsequently, he relocated to the UAE to work as a Specialist in Internal Medicine at the Emirates Hospital in Jumeirah.

As a skilled and experienced Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Saloum provides comprehensive care to prevent, detect and treat a broad range of diseases that affect multiple organs of the body. He is an expert at diagnosing and treating diabetes, ischemic heart disease, acute and chronic diseases, asthma and COPD cases, anaemia, gastric ulcer, acute and chronic abdominal pain syndromes, respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD and heart diseases. He has successfully managed food allergies and intolerance, chronic fatigability and vitamin deficiencies in adolescents, adults and the elderly, and even administers vaccines.

He places a lot of importance on being fit and healthy so in his spare time, he runs. He speaks Arabic and English.
