Dr. Miral Mostafa Fotouh Ahmed

Dr. Miral Mostafa Fotouh Ahmed is a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBCh from Alexandria University in Egypt, followed by a Master’s in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MD) from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists part 1(MRCOG), an International board-certified Lactation Consultant, holds a Professional Diploma in Aesthetic Gynaecology from the American Association, and has obtained professional training in Hysteroscopy. 

Dr. Ahmed has extensive experience working in hospitals in the UAE and Egypt, focusing on foetal wellbeing surveillance, pre-, post- and antenatal care, infertility management and obstetrical ultrasonography. More than two decades ago, she commenced her career in Egypt as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Alexandria University Hospital. Later, she joined the Maternity Hospital Alexandria as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Subsequently, she moved to the UAE to join Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital at Umm Al Quwain as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She worked in a similar capacity at Zulekha Hospital, Oriana Hospital, Medcare Medical Centre and Enjab Medical Center, all in Sharjah before re-joining Medcare.

Dr. Ahmed's expertise covers a wide range of areas, including intrauterine insemination (IUI), diagnostic hysteroscopy, laparoscopic gynaecological surgery, ovarian cyst removal, pelvic surgery, diagnostic laparoscopy, colposcopy, repair and cosmetic gynaecology. She has successfully managed antenatal care, high-risk pregnancies and deliveries, Caesarean sections, postpartum care, contraception and infertility work-up. She treats all gynaecological conditions including abnormal bleeding, recurrent miscarriages, endometriosis, hormonal disorders, and menopausal and pubertal problems. She has proficiently treated patients with pre-cancerous and malignant lesions of the cervix and uterus, dyspareunia, dryness and sexual dysfunction using PRP injections, polycystic ovaries with irregular menstruation, hirsutism, acne and infertility, and cystocele and rectocele with vaginal tightening.

She is regularly invited as a guest speaker at scientific sessions and worldwide conferences where she talks about obstetrical ultrasonography. During her leisure hours, she likes to catch up with her reading and enjoys travelling. She speaks Arabic and English.
