Dr. Babita Shetty

Dr. Babita Shetty is a Specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. She completed her MBBS and then her MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Command Hospital Airforce, Bangalore, India. She has undergone training in operative Hysteroscopy & Laparoscopy from the Centre of Excellence for Minimal Access Surgery Training in India 

Dr. Shetty commenced her sterling career as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Cambridge Hospital in Bangalore, India. Thereafter, she started a private practice clinic which flourished for nearly a decade. Subsequently, she moved to Dubai where she joined NMC Specialty Hospital as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She spent several fruitful years here and among her achievements has been the launch of the ‘MamaCare’ programme for new mothers. 

 Dr. Shetty’s skills and experience make her an extremely competent Specialist whose work encompasses high-risk pregnancies with medical complications, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomies, laparoscopic tubal and ovarian procedures, placental complications during pregnancies, and pregnancies with previous 3 or more Caesarean sections. She specialises in fibroid removal, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) treatment, laparoscopic surgeries for ovarian complex masses, fibroids and total laparoscopic hysterectomies and ectopic pregnancies. Her special interest lies in the management of high-risk pregnancies and gynaecological endoscopic surgeries. She is also skilled in Colposcopy. She has successfully treated pregnancy-induced hypotension, metabolic disorders in pregnancy, pre-term deliveries and complications, endometriosis, infertility, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, ovarian tumours, PCOS and hormonal imbalances, puberty disorders, perimenopausal disorders and post-menopausal complications. Dr. Shetty has attended various international conferences and workshops and has several international publications, essays, and presentations to her name. 

Dr. Shetty loves gardening, travelling and dancing. She speaks a variety of languages like English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telegu and Tulu.
