Dr. Nita Zaji

Dr. Nita Zaji is a Specialist in the Department of General Surgery at Medcare Women and Children Hospital. She completed her MBBS from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, an MD in General Surgery from Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, a Diploma in Minimally Invasive Surgery from the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and an Advanced study in Breast Surgeries  from the Institute of Cancer at the Shohada University of Medical Science, all in Iran.

Dr. Zaji started her career as a General Physician in Iran. After specialising in General Surgery she spent a decade working in various hospitals as a General Surgeon before relocating to the UAE. Here, she worked at the Iranian Hospital, the Medeor 24x7 Hospital and Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery as a General Surgeon. 

Her expertise includes laparoscopic procedures, initial assessment and definitive operative care for traumatic injuries, management and surgery for all kinds of acute abdominal emergencies, endo venous laser ablation and sclerotherapy, abdominoplasty, liposuction and mammoplasty. She performs thoracoscopy (diagnostic and wedge resections) and oncoplastic breast cancer surgeries. She has successfully treated breast mass, cysts and lumps, gall stones, biliary stones, varicosis, rectal prolapse, appendicitis, cholelithiasis, cholecystitis and haemorrhoids. She is proficient in managing anal fissures, fistula, abscesses, and anal canal disorders and uses new techniques of surgeries with stapler. She repairs all kinds of hernias with laparoscopy and open surgery.

Whenever she finds time in her busy schedule, Dr. Zaji likes to keep fit by skiing, playing badminton and swimming. She speaks English and Persian.
