Dr. Ali Abdulhameed

Dr. Ali Abdulhameed is a skilled Specialist in Gastroenterology at the Al Zahia branch of Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his MBChB from Baghdad University and his MD with specialization in  Gastroenterology from Medical City in Baghdad. He is a member of the Iraqi Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

With over two decades of dedicated experience, he is committed to patients’ digestive health, specialising in inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, and treating fatty liver and chronic liver disease. Immediately after his graduation, he started working in Medical City in Baghdad. He spent most of his career in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Medical City in Baghdad, managing all gastrointestinal and liver diseases performing endoscopy, diagnostis and therapeutic, gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He later relocated to the UAE where he worked as a Specialist in Gastroenterology at the Danat Hospital, the Zulekha Hospital and the Prime Specialist Medical Center. He was with the Aster Hospital just before joining Medcare.

Dr. Abdulameed’s expertise covers diagnostic and therapeutic management of Upper GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, therapeutic Endoscopy like Polypectomy, Stricture Dilatation, Endoscopic Luminal Stent Placement and PEG. He has successfully treated patients with fatty liver, chronic liver disease, gastrointestinal diseases, acute gastroenteritis, reflux and peptic ulcer disease, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease(GERD), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

In his spare time, he likes to catch up with his reading. He speaks Arabic and English.
