Dr. Heidi Abdelhamid

Dr. Heidi Abdelhamid is a General Practitioner in the Department of Internal Medicine at Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS and a Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine from Alexandria University, Egypt. Her comprehensive academic and clinical training laid a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine, clinical diagnosis, and patient management across various medical specialties. She is a member of the Egyptian Society of Internal Medicine. She holds several certifications, including Advanced Life Support (ALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS).

Dr. Abdelhamid has over a decade of clinical experience in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. She started her practice in Egypt as a General Practitioner at Sharq Al Madina Hospital, then joined Alexandria New Medical Centre, followed by Alexandria University Hospital, before moving to the UAE. Having worked at leading governmental and private hospitals across Egypt, she gained invaluable experience in General Practice, Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Subsequently, she joined NMC Healthcare before continuing her medical practice at Medcare Medical Centre.

Dr. Abdelhamid’s expertise encompasses the management of acute and critical conditions, with a strong focus on delivering prompt and effective care during medical emergencies. She treats hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and related complications, endocrine and thyroid disorders, dyslipidaemia and metabolic syndrome, acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases, anaemia and haematological diseases, pulmonary diseases, acute and chronic infectious diseases and screening and health check-ups. She actively contributes to medical research, with a published clinical trial in Nephrology. Her research focuses on improving the understanding, prevention, and treatment of chronic kidney disease. 

Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Abdelhamid is passionate about fitness and bodybuilding, loves travelling, reading, and actively engages in community activities. She is fluent in both English and Arabic.
