Dr. Karima Kardi

Dr. Karima Kardi is a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner and Family Physician with expertise in healthcare management, currently working with the Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS from the University of Mentouri, Constantine in Algeria, and an MBA in Healthcare Management from Dubai.  She has done various certifications like the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the International Health & Safety Training Center, Dubai, Advanced Resuscitation Training (ART) and Resuscitation Training (RT) from the Centre Hospitalo-Universitaire, Algeria. She also holds a Diploma in Diabetes Management from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), UK and has completed Part 1 membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). 

Dr. Kardi has over a decade of experience as a Medical Doctor (emergency and family medicine) in different hospitals and clinics in the Middle East and North Africa. She started her career in Algeria, as a General Practitioner at the Centre Hospitalo-Universitaire (CHU) in Constantine, followed by a stint in Family Medicine at the Polyclinique Skanska in Tebessa, and then as a General Practitioner/ Emergency Physician (SAMU) at Alia Saleh Hospital under the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reforms in Tebessa, Algeria. Subsequently, she moved to the UAE to work as a General Practitioner at the Dubai Specialized Medical Center & Medical Research. Later she worked with Medicentres Polyclinic (Dubai, UAE) and essayed the role of Medical Director and General Practitioner at the GEMS Founders School in Dubai. 

Dr. Kardi’s expertise includes comprehensive family healthcare and continuity of care, management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, acute and emergency care, including infections, injuries, and urgent medical concerns, health screenings, vaccinations, and preventive care initiatives., patient education, lifestyle counselling, and promoting long-term wellness. She is skilled in diagnosing, treating, and managing various conditions, from acute to chronic diseases, with a commitment to patient-centred care. She has successfully treated acute upper and lower respiratory infections, asthma, diabetes type 2, gastrointestinal problems, communicable diseases, hyperlipidaemia, hypertension, acute illness and anaemia. She is focused on preventive medicine, health education, and holistic treatment approaches tailored to individual needs.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cycling, swimming and spending quality time with her children. She speaks Arabic, English and French.
