Dr. Dema Mahdi Mohamed

 

Dr. Dema Mahdi Mohamed is a General Practitioner at Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her MBBS from Khartoum College for Medical Sciences in Khartoum, Sudan.

Dr. Mohamed commenced her career as a General Practitioner, with a stint in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department of the Military Hospital, Sudan. She later worked as a Medical Coordinator and GP in the Paediatric Clinic of the NGO OVCI La Nostra Famiglia and the ENT department at the Khartoum Teaching Hospital, both in Sudan. Subsequently, she moved to the UAE to join as a GP in the ER and OPD departments in Ahalia Hospital in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. She was the Operations Manager for Home Care Services at Enayati Home Health Care and served as a GP at the OPD Clinic in Ibn Sina Medical Center in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Mohamed is proficient in managing acute and chronic illnesses in adults and children, providing thorough follow-ups and facilitating referrals to specialists, as appropriate. She is skilled in performing a wide range of urgent care services and resuscitation procedures and counsels patients on disease prevention and health promotion strategies. She provides specialised counselling on vaccination and immunisation for geriatric patients and children and is an expert in mental health care and rehabilitation to contribute to patients’ overall well-being.

She treats colds, coughs, sore throats, and flu, upper and lower respiratory tract infections and diseases, ear infections, insect bites, skin problems, like rashes and minor burns, wound sutures, sports injuries, sprains, bumps, bruises, urinary tract infection, allergies, arthritis and joint and bone disorders and injuries, diabetes type 1 & 2, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, obesity, thyroid disorder, lung conditions, chronic bronchitis, oesophagitis, GERD, hiatus hernia, GIT Bleeding, acne and eczema, dermatitis, hyper-pigmentation and substance use disorders. She also manages menopause, osteoporosis, postpartum depression, thyroid disorders, urinary incontinence, birth control, pap tests, pre-conception planning, pre-natal care, gestational diabetes, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, normal and assisted vaginal deliveries, Caesarean sections, and enlarged prostate and erectile dysfunction in men. She performs neonatal check-ups and treats malnutrition, dehydration, upper and lower RTI and asthma in paediatrics, including rehabilitation for children with special needs.

Dr. Mohammed enjoys running, reading, travelling, and cooking during her spare time. She speaks Arabic and English.
