Dr. Marwan Qasem

Dr. Marwan Qasem is a Specialist in Otolaryngology at the ENT Department of City Centre Mirdif & Al Khawaneej branches of Medcare Medical Centre. He acquired his MBBCh from Misr University for Science & Technology (MUST), Egypt and a Diploma in Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) (DO-HNS) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow in the UK. He has a certification from the European Board of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, from Vienna in Austria and another certification from the Jordanian Board of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery from Aman in Jordan.
Dr. Qasem is an eminent surgeon who has completed a Rhinoplasty & Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Course from Greece, a course on Rhino surgery and a course on Basics of Septo-Rhinoplasty Functional Endoscopic Sinus Techniques and Endoscopic Rhino-Neurosurgery from Graz in Austria, a Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Workshop from Cairo in Egypt, an Endoscopic Ear Surgery Workshop from Dubai in the UAE and another Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Course from Barcelona in Spain. He is a member of the European Rhinology Society (ERS) and the Jordan Association of ORL-HNS.
He commenced his illustrious career’s journey as a General Practitioner, working for Jordan Medical Aid for Palestinians (J.M.A.P.) and then spent almost a decade with the Jordan Ministry of Health (J.M.O.H.), starting as an intern, then as a general practitioner, an ENT Resident, a board-eligible ENT Specialist and finally an ENT Specialist. He then relocated to Saudi Arabia as a Senior ENT Specialist at Dr. Saeed Medical Complex (D.SMC) in Jeddah. After this, he spent a couple of years at Medcare Hospital and Medical Center in Dubai as a Specialist in Otolaryngology followed by a stint at the American Hospital and Satellite Clinics in a similar capacity.
An accomplished and skilful surgeon, Dr. Qasem uses the latest techniques to cure his patients. He uses coblation surgery for tonsils, adenoids and nasal turbinates, sleep surgery including PPPU operation, ear surgeries like myringotomy for grommet (ear tubes)and tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy (eardrum repair with the removal of disease from mastoid bone), performs diagnostic nasal, pharyngeal and laryngeal endoscopies (rigid and flexible), micro laryngoscopy for treatment of vocal cord disorders and functional endoscopic sinus surgeries using navigation techniques. He is proficient in paediatric foreign body removal from ear, nose, cricopharynx and oesophagus and has successfully performed emergency tracheostomy, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, septoplasty with turbinate reduction, allergic rhinitis and sinusitis, vertigo, dizziness, balance disorders and hearing impairment.
During his leisure hours, he likes reading and playing tennis. He speaks both Arabic and English.
