About
Dr. Raji Rajendran Pillai is a Specialist in Otolaryngology in the ENT Department of Medcare Medical Centre. She received her MBBS from the esteemed Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and completed her MS in ENT from the Rajiv Gandhi University in Bangalore. She also attained the distinguished MRCS-ENT qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons England. Dr. Pillai served as a Consultant ENT Surgeon and Assistant Professor of ENT at Azeezia Medical College Hospital in Kerala, India. She then moved to the UK to join the Barts NHS Trust in the UK, working at the Royal London Hospital, one of UK's leading tertiary care centres. In this role, she was actively involved in the management of complex cases including head and neck cancers, adult and paediatric ENT trauma, paediatric snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea, congenital ENT conditions, vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus and hoarseness of voice. Subsequently, she joined Broomfield Hospital (Mid and South Essex NHS Trust) as an ENT Specialist Doctor before relocating to the UAE.
Dr. Pillai brings with her a decade of experience with a patient-focused approach to her field. She excels in performing tonsillectomy and adenoid surgeries using minimal blood loss techniques, correcting deviated nasal septum, reducing nasal turbinates, and performing endoscopic sinus surgeries (FESS) and micro laryngeal surgeries. Her proficiency extends to ear surgeries such as tympanoplasty, mastoidectomies, and managing glue ear in children. Dr. Pillai manages ear infections and their complications, deep neck space infections, severe sinusitis in both adults and children, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, vocal cord polyps and salivary gland disorders including dry mouth. Patients frequently praise her affable and warm demeanour, which, coupled with the latest techniques, ensures high-quality care and excellent outcomes.
