Ms. Ciara Icay

Ms. Ciara Icay is a Laser Technician in the Department of Dermatology at Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her BSc in Nursing at the Aklan Catholic College in the Philippines and her Diploma as a Certified Laser Technician at the Villa Fortuny Training Centre in Dubai, UAE. Additionally, she is a Registered Nurse from the New York State Education Department, USA and from the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, Canada. She is a member of the Philippine Nurses Association.

Ms. Icay commenced her career in the Philippines, working as a Staff Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and Medical / Surgical, Paediatric, OB Gynaecology Ward of the Aklan Cooperative Mission Hospital. Subsequently, she moved to the UAE to join Clinique des Champs-Élysées, Dubai, as a Dermatology and Aesthetic Nurse and Laser Technician. Later, she started working as a Dermatology Nurse and Laser Technician at Medcare Medical Centre.

Ms. Icay is a qualified healthcare professional who uses laser technology for various therapeutic and aesthetic procedures. She skilfully manages the entire process, from understanding the patient’s medical history and explaining the procedure and its risks, to calibrating and handling the laser equipment, applying the laser to the patient’s skin, and providing aftercare instructions. She treats oily skin, congested skin, dull and dehydrated skin, comedones (black and white heads), open, clogged and enlarged pores, uneven skin tone and texture, excessive and unwanted body hair and unwanted vellus hair.

During her spare time, Ms. Icay enjoys walking, snorkelling, scuba diving and watching movies. She speaks English and Filipino.
