Dr. Galal Eldin Nagib Elkilany Abdellatif

Dr. Galal Eldin Nagib-Elkilany Abdellatif is a Consultant Cardiologist at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. He completed his MBBS and then his MSc in Cardiology and Angiology from Tanta University, Egypt. He also completed a PhD (doctorate) in Cardiology from Tanta University, Egypt. He holds Fellowships from Erasmus University Thorax Centre in the Netherlands, the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound (ISCU), USA and the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).

Dr. Elkilany is internationally recognised for his expertise in echocardiography, ischemic heart disease, and preventive cardiology, with academic and clinical contributions spanning Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, Italy, and the USA. During the early years of his career in Egypt, he was a Consultant at Tanta University Hospital, Egypt. Later, he became a Registrar at the Chest Disease Hospital in Kuwait and continued there as a Specialist Cardiologist. He then moved to the UAE as Chairman of the Medical Department of Khalifa Hospital, Ajman, UAE. He was a visiting Professor at Sapienza University Hospital, Rome, Italy and a visiting Physician at UAB Birmingham in Alabama, USA. He also served as a Professor at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Centre, VA, USA. After relocating to the UAE, he served as a Consultant Cardiologist at Dibba Hospital (Fujairah), Enjab & Elaj Medical Centre, Thumbay Hospitals (Ajman & Fujairah), and SSMC-Mayo Clinic Abu Dhabi.  

Dr. Elkilany’s expertise covers clinical evaluation and management of all cardiovascular diseases from the pre-clinical status to heart failure, hypertension, valvular heart disease, ischemic heart disease, obesity and metabolic syndrome, aortic root disease diagnosis and management, cardiomyopathy, pericardial effusion, and early detection of atherosclerosis. His repertoire includes cardiovascular imaging, echocardiography in adult and congenital conditions, administering stress echocardiography, two- and three-dimensional ECHO tests, trans-oesophageal echocardiography (TEE), exercise stress ECG, treadmill test, and Holter monitoring. He also performs Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM), manages critical care cardiac patients, carries out chest pain unit evaluation and uses cardiac ultrasound for evaluation of ICU patients.
