Dr. Imtiaz Hashmi

Dr. Imtiaz Hashmi is a Specialist in the Department of Spine Surgery & Orthopaedics at Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital. He obtained his MBBS from the well-known King Edward Medical University situated in Lahore in Pakistan. He has a Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons, Edinburgh and a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery from Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, UK.
Dr. Hashmi is the Founder and President of the Society of Spine Surgeons of Pakistan and the ex- Vice President of the Pakistan Orthopaedic Association. He spent a considerable time as Consultant Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi. He has also served as a Professor and Chairman of Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery at Ziauddin University, also in Karachi.
He is an expert in scoliosis and all other pathologies of the spine, and joint replacements of knee and hip joints. Dr. Hashmi has performed surgeries for all types of spinal deformities like kyphosis and scoliosis in children and adults, minimally invasive surgery of the spine, kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty procedures, spinal stenosis surgeries and primary and complex revision spine operations. He is proficient in complex total knee and hip replacement including the proximal femur and tibia replacement, arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, and treating conditions affecting the thoracic and lumbosacral spine, tumours, and infected and fractured spine.
During his leisure hours, Dr. Hashmi likes listening to music and travelling. He speaks English and Urdu.
